5 TIPS FOR BETTER DIGESTION

Digestive health can affect our overall health for better or for worse. Healthy gut=strong immune system, happy hormones, better sleep, healthy skin, and more! So here’s 5 tips to help with better digestion~

  1. Drink room temperature water. Stray from ice cold water or drinks in order to help keep things flowing. Room temp water/beverages will help combat fatigue as well as help with better absorption.

  2. Sleep. Try to get 7-9 hours of sleep every night. Sleep is so beneficial to help combat cravings and bloating which in turn will help our digestion.

  3. Movement! Move your body at least 5 days a week. This can be walking, stretching, biking, yoga, pilates, etc. Movement is so beneficial for gut health as well as your mood!

  4. Eat warm foods in the morning. Stray from smoothies and cold foods and start eating warm/hot foods to help get digestion flowing and aid with bloating. If your a smoothie person maybe try starting your day with eggs and toast first and see how you feel after a week.

  5. Limit processed foods and sugars. Stick to real/whole foods as opposed to foods that may come in a box or are high in added sugars. Make sure you’re getting fiber from nuts and fruits/veggies and focus on pairing complex carbs with healthy fats + protein.

Start with these 5 tips and see how you feel after a week or two. Digestive health is so important for our overall health and being consistent with these tips will only help you feel better!

P.S. here’s an extra tip…try digestive enzymes if you know there is a food group that you don’t digest very well. These are best taken before a meal in order to help break food particles down.
