IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOSTERS
‘Tis the season am I right?! It’s been a crazy year…yikes, but still no excuse to let our health go down the drain. With everything going on this should be a wake up call to step it up and start taking better care of ourselves! Health isn’t just about what we eat, but also how we move our body, what we think, how we sleep, and more. Throughout this post I will be giving some helpful immune boosting tips that can lead to an all-around healthier lifestyle. Let’s feel good!!
Get 8-10 hours of sleep-this is so important in order to help with stress and hunger levels as well!
Get outside-Vitamin D helps boost your immune system as well as your mood. Try going for a 10 minute walk a day to get some sunshine and movement.
Move your body-whether its walking, biking, yoga, swimming, or whatever you like to do…try to do so at least 3-5x a week. Exercising helps boost our immune system and keeps us energized!
Eat those fruits and veggies! Here’s the ones that are higher in Vitamin C:
Strawberries
Cauliflower
Bell peppers
Spinach + Kale
Broccoli
Oranges
Take a probiotic-consult your Dr. before choosing one, but probiotics are what help fight off the bad bacteria in the gut and our health starts in our digestive systems! The more on track we are in our guts the stronger our immune system.
Drinking tea: green, turmeric ginger, peppermint, lemon ginger, kombucha, matcha, & lemon balm are all great to help boost our immune system!
Reduce stress: easier said than done, but stress plays a big roll in the overall health of our bodies. Give yourself a day to practice self care and help alleviate any stress going on in your life.
Avoid added sugars and processed foods-again something that wrecks our guts which in turn doesn’t aid in boosting the immune system to help fight illnesses.
These are just a few helpful tips that can help keep your immune system strong as well as just help with your overall health and wellness! Think of food as a way to nourish your body, exercise as a way to move your body, and sleep as a way to take care of your body.
Stay healthy peeps!
