I’m not a coffee drinker, but I do love a good matcha latte! Matcha can be on the pricier side depending on your milk choice and where you go, so I made a list of places in the Southern California area that are worth the dough!! (in my opinion).

When I order a matcha I usually get almond or coconut milk because I’m dairy free, so all places listed have one of those choices! Typically $0.50-$1 extra for a different milk choice. I also don’t like added sweetener in my matchas because the milks typically have some added sugar in them already, most places add it in but you can simply order without if wanted. Here we go!

Orange County~

Kit Coffee: Probably one of my favorite matcha lattes(they use Mizuba matcha which is one of the best in my opinion)~I get with almond milk. They know how to make it creamy and mix well enough so there isn’t any matcha residue at the bottom!

Sidecar Doughnuts and Coffee: Another favorite~they use Tenzo matcha which is a newer company, but they have great matcha! Also located in SD + LA.

Humblemaker: I’ve only had my matcha iced here, but it’s so creamy and tasty~perfect on a hot summer day! I’m not even much of an “iced” drinker, but this one is a must.

Portola: Another shop that uses Mizuba~more on the pricier side, but worth it as a nice lil treat!

Hola Adios: They have coconut milk as an option which is rare in the OC.

Herst: Sit outside with a good book + an iced matcha and you’ll feel like you’re in a different country. The Lido location is so enjoyable. Great pastries too!

Lion & Lamb: A fun coffee shop with a yummy iced matcha!

Hola Adios: Matcha is great hot or iced here. I typically get almond milk, but oat milk tastes so good in an iced matcha from here.

Reborn: I love this place because they have macadamia nut milk which is such a fun swap for your iced matcha!

Los Angeles~

Alfred Tea: love their marketing and coconut milk matcha! They use their own brand and it’s super simple and yummy.

Cha Cha Matcha: Not only a fun atmosphere, but plenty of options for a matcha drink! Again I got the coconut milk matcha and it was tasty.

Santa Barbara Area~

Lucky Llama: One of my most favorite matchas I’ve had! A very cozy place to get some work done and of course llama marketing always gets me! Located in Carpinteria.

Dune: Cute space in downtown Santa Barbara with a quality matcha.

San Diego~

Parakeet Cafe: Another super favorite of mine and they offer coconut milk! This place has so many yummy eats that fit any type of diet -Gluten free, Dairy free, and Paleo options.

San Clemente~

Sur Coffee: Such a yummy iced matcha! One of my favorite options down South. They now have an HB location!
