SELF-CARE SHOULDN'T BE RARE

Self-care has become one of the most important words in the last year and it's because it is something we all need! Girl or boy, you need your own time in order to properly take care of yourself. Being healthy doesn't just include your diet, it also has to do with how we physically treat our bodies, how we think, and what we do for ourselves on a daily basis. In order to practice self-care you have to be somewhat selfish which can be difficult for some to do. We are always trying to please others and make sure they're happy(especially if you're a parent), but what about yourself? Are you getting an adequate amount of sleep? Feeding your body nourishing foods? Participating in at least one activity a day that lifts your soul? Are you happy? The craziness of life and having the right finances can make all of the above more difficult to achieve, but sometimes you just need to stop for a minute and do what is best for you. Instead of taking a "life" break to scroll through instagram or facebook go for a walk, make yourself an energizing snack, or call the friend you've been playing phone tag with. If you feel physically, mentally, or emotionally exhausted do not be afraid to take a "me" day from work or school and do something that makes you feel good. This can be running, surfing, cooking, sleeping, reading, lunch with your mom, whatever you want to do that will make your day that much better! Remember, this is your life and you deserve to live it how you want and to be joyful doing so. We can not care for others if we do not first care for ourselves. Take care of the body and mind that were given to you because many may not have the opportunity or the means to do so. Be aware of your self-care.
