Healthier Quick Food Joints

When trying to eat healthier foods we’re going to try to avoid fast food joints, but life is busy and sometimes we just need a quick meal that won’t break the bank! So here are some of my favorite healthier quick food joints that will keep you satisfied and make you forget about those drive-thrus.

Whole Foods

I’ve always been a fan of the Whole Foods hot bar because it’s basically a buffet and you can choose whatever your little heart desires! You can also choose to make your meals smaller or larger depending on your hunger. Your food is weighed for the price-good to remember when choosing heavier foods-but mine is typically between $6-$9 depending on how hungry I am. I always make a little salad with protein and get all the veggies + potatoes.

Jan’s Health Bar

This place is great for breakfast and lunch with plenty of smoothie, sandwich, and salad options. They also provide a great amount of food so you could make your food last for two separate meals. I would suggest calling ahead because they definitely get busy! My favorites: the Jan’s Classic Salad and the Oats Nuts and Berries Smoothie.

Bear Flag

Great for a well priced delicious fish taco. They’re known for their fresh fish and tasty poke! You can also order sushi or get a fish plate with sides. They also get busy here so call ahead if you’re in a hurry. My order: the salmon plate with a side of veggies and black beans or two grilled fish tacos.

Trader Joe’s

I love Trader Joe’s for their convenient food options. I like to get their packaged salads for a quick and cheaper meal option. They also have yummy wraps and frozen food options(always watch for the sodium count on those ones). My favorite salads: Pasadena Salad, Broccoli Slaw and Kale Salad with White Chicken Meat, and their seasonal Salad Palette Turkey Breast Harvest(only around in the Fall).

Vibe Organic Kitchen & Juice

This place is all Vegan/Plant based and sooo good! They have a variety of meals from smoothies to taco bowls to avocado toast and more. You can also find some local goodies in their fridge section that are so tasty. I typically get the Fiesta Bowl-comes with jackfruit “carnitas” and a cashew “cheese” sauce! Being dairy free I really enjoy their DF options. They have a location in Newport and Dana Point.

I’m always updating these kinds of posts so keep checking back for any new places I find~
