TRAVEL SNACK HACKS

Packing snacks when traveling is crucial in order to avoid low blood sugar and overall hanger! I’m the queen of always having snacks, I love to be prepared especially when traveling. Not only does packing snacks help with hanger problems, but also with saving money as well as choosing healthier options as opposed to convenience store chips and candy bars. So what are the best and easiest snacks to travel with? Here’s a simple list of some satisfying and tasty snacks to bring on your travels~

  • Fruit-always easy and nice to have some fresh food with you

  • Dried fruit-wont’ go bad and easier to travel with

  • Nuts/Trail mix-healthy fats are great for keeping you satisfied through out the long travel days-the protein and the fat will also help keep your energy levels up

  • Bars-protein bars are great for a quick meal saver if you’re stuck driving or in the airport-here’s a few that I like

    • Lara Bars

    • Kind Bars

    • Rx bars

    • Nugo Slim bars

    • GoMacro

  • Fresh veggies-chopped carrots, bell pepper, snap peas, and cucumber are nice to have-if you’re road tripping with a cooler bring some hummus to dip with!

  • Popcorn-Full and fiber and even some protein

  • Nut butters-great source of fats and protein to keep you sustained while waiting for your next meal

  • Tea bags-I always have tea bags on me so I can just ask for a cup of hot water and sip on my liquid warmth

  • Homemade cookies! Check my recipes tab for some easy, healthier cookies to bring on the road with you!

  • Protein/Energy Bites-love to have these when camping! Check my Recipes tab for some simple ways to make them~

Some of these options are better for road trips while some are better for plane/out of the country trips. Check to see what foods you can bring with you on the plane-when it comes to nut butter I’ll bring a couple of the mini packets because jars are not only heavy but not allowed(Learned the hard way). Try making your own trail mix with some of your favorite nuts and dried fruit! Make sure the bars you choose aren’t just full of added sugars and provide a good amount of protein and fiber. Be sure to fuel your body so you can enjoy the fun of traveling!
