MY QUARANTINE ESSENTIALS
It’s crazy to even be writing a blog post about this, but it’s been about 30 days of quarantine due to coronavirus and I think we’re all feelin bleh and meh…so I decided to compile a list of some of my essentials to have around during this historical time!
Essential Oils: my latest obsession which came at perfect timing! I am now an oil user and lover~my whole family is actually a fan as well. Each day I’ll diffuse an uplifting oil such as wild orange or springtime blend, and just let my room embrace the lovely smells. I’m also a huge fan of digestzen(for bloating and stomach issues) and on guard(immune boost). I use doterra and personally have seen a difference in how my body reacts to them.
Yoga Mat: keeping my practice consistent has been huge during all of this. Yoga is my escape and though I can’t actually go to a studio to escape I can at least still practice in my room turned studio space haha. One of my favorite Live streams for classes is Ra Yoga~my home studio. It’s helpful seeing those familiar faces and taking my favorite classes.
Chocolate: chocolate is always essential, but especially right now! I’ve probably eaten more chocolate than ever, but I’m extremely ok with it. Dark chocolate forever!
Tea: another essential in my day to day life, but again it’s been a much needed daily ritual-I typically have 2-4 cups a day. Some of my favorites include; green tea, earl grey with almond milk, peppermint, and lemon balm.
Candles: Since I’m spending a lot of time in my room(it’s now my office + workout space) I’ve been making sure to keep it nice and tidy. Candles help bring a nice vibe to any activity. The highlight of my day is now deciding which candle I will light for the day!! or will it be all?? The options are endless!(lol)
Slippers: One of the greatest things to be invented-get the ones with the hard bottom so you can wear them out and about cause why not?! Love these fluffy guys.
Walking Shoes: Unbelievably so I do change out of my slippers, but only for my walking shoes because walks have been my most favorite activity during all of this. It’s a break from screens, a reminder to slow down-enjoy nature and fun houses that you hope to purchase one day, a time to think, enjoy music, or a podcast. On top of all that you also get to enjoy some vitamin D and hopefully get a pre-summer tan(at least on my face I am…)
Podcasts: Girls Gotta Eat podcast is helping to keep me sane! I feel like I’m hangin with friends and legit laugh out loud almost every episode. It’s definitely not for everyone, but it’s a good listen if you’re a girl in their 20s-30s.
FaceTime/Zoom: Call your friends up and hang out virtually!!! It’s seriously the best. It’s a great time to connect with friends/family you don’t get to see/talk to very often cause we’re all in this together. So go and call them and catch up with a virtual happy hour(my personal fave.
Books: No better time to catch up on all those books of your “must read” list. I’m personally not very prepared because I was using the library and did not stock up in time! But I have enjoyed the one book I did stock up on.
Long story short, do/eat what feels best for you. Listen to what you really want, take care of yourself, try something new, catch up with old friends, etc!! Feel free to share some of your essentials below~
Stay Healthy, Stay Safe, Stay Sane~
